I have had a ryzen 5 5600 for about 4 months and i noticed today it was reaching over 90 degrees in rainbow six siege and just over 60 degrees at idle in the bios.it is usually around 80 degrees in high demand games. i have adjusted my CPU fan speeds but it hasn't changed. UK is at around 25-30 degrees at the moment could this be the issue.

What CPU cooler do you have? Was it new 4 months ago, or transferred over used?
What case do you have?
Please describe the orientation/quantity of case fans.
What GPU do you have?
When you say "usually 80 degrees" what does that mean? As measured in this exact same condition as the new 90C? (typically best to measure temps when running a consistent load like Prime95 since games load the CPU irregularly)

All cooling temp is going to be a delta over ambient. So if the room your PC is in is now 10C warmer (30C is uncomfortable for indoor temp), then yes, you'd see a (roughly) 10C increase in CPU temp.

i have the stock amd cooler that came with it.
i have a corsair case. dont know the exact one
i have 6 fans 3 intake
6700xt gpu
when in games the cpu averages 80 degrees sometimes 82-83 other times around 77-78. this is when playing games or in benchmarks

Like I said, if your room temp went up 10C because of the heatwave and no AC, then yes, your CPU is going to be roughly that same amount hotter.

There's also the possibility that your 80C measurement before wasn't the EXACT same operating conditions as the 90C you're stating now.

So maybe some combination of both?

Thank you. i'll just presume it is the heatwave

I'm not sure what you're worried about. The 5600 is designed to run at temperatures up to 90C before it throttles (the 5600X up to 95C). Unless your system crashes, don't panic. Of course you'll get better performance if you keep the CPU cooler so it doesn't throttle.

My 9750X + NH-D15 is stable at temperatures just above 90C for long rendering sessions even when the ambient temperature is 30C. Under normal conditions, these modern Ryzens boost up to 90/95C for heavy loads which is what you're seeing. The i9-13900K runs at 100C when pushed hard.

If you want lower temps, replace the stock heatsink with a decent aftermarket item. Hundreds of unused AMD Wraith coolers are listed on eBay each year, by people who immediately replace them with something much better.
