My CPU is running slow

I have an AMD 9370 8 core processor corsair h100i liquid cooling, the sabertooth 990fx r2.0 and the MSI Radeon R9 290x. All of this is running much slower than my friends i3 2100 dual core, gtx 760 and the motherboard is unknown. Why is this happening?

What cooler is on your CPU and whar are the temps? I have an 8350 and an R9 290 and I get better performance than my friends with i7's and GTX 970's

I'd be looking at temps too. Possibly thermal throttling, the 9370 is a toaster oven. Maybe driver issues?

As far as an 8350/r9 290 getting better performance than an i7/gtx 970 I'd question that. In the majority of games the 970 is still faster than the 290 and there's no doubt an i7 is faster than an 8350.

Even a 1st gen i7 920 gives the 8350 a run for it's money and can still outperform it at times, much less even a 3rd or 4th gen.

I am thinking about selling/returning my gpu, cpu, cpu cooler and psu. Should i do this?
P.S my psu is EVGA 1200w (i know right wtf was i thinking)

Both my CPU and GPU are overclocked whereas my friends counterparts are not.. The only benchmark we have done is Uniengine valley

Do not return anything yet. As we asked, what are your temperatures on both your CPU and GPU. Also what version of windows are you using?
