Parts I've picked out: well i've only ended up coming up with a CPU i guess right now as i'm not too knowledgeable about videocards, soooo....

Intel core i7 920

picked this case, because i thought it was cool

I wanted to have an HDMI port also, so for that I would need to have a motherboard that has one, right? and then also for that HDMI, do I have to look for a videocard that can support HDMI?

well, for the motherboard and the videocard, i'd love to have suggestions from you guys, because I don't know which cards are good and which are not, and what is the best for the price, etc.

well, i guess this is a start... any opinions?

so i still need the video card, opitical drive and windows 7.

do i need to get any cables or anything else? and does the case come with the blue lights like in the pics or do you have to buy those separate?

oh ha. yes i have wireless logitech keyboard, and a wireless microsoft mouse that is okay. i guess. and have a 23 inch LG monitor that I love, and some speakers too. all set on that front :)

i love this keyboard, i got it with the rebate from amazon for like 20 bucks total, and it's the diNovo one. i recommend it.

i don't have it yet. i just ordered the parts last night. the cpu and power supply from amazon and will be here friday. the other parts are newegg so i'm not sure... it said 3 day but probably will be next week 🙁

OOOOO you called me out on the vid card. way to kill my spirits bro haha just kidding

i was looking around for the hd 5850 just now and looking at top sellers lists on newegg and amazon.

i was just wondering since I can't find this card, what would be another good one to look at?

and what makes the hd5850 the one that i should get and are there any others that would be about as good?

thanks

here in holland theyre in stock. but i guess in the us of a things go different eh 😛
you should definitely get the hd5850
-amazing performance compared to other cards(beats the GTX285, previously the fastest),
-next generation, more support for e.g. DX11, DirectCompute, OpenCL
-great price, at just 250 euros(don't know about $$) it beats the GTX285 at 340 euros.

About the HAF 922 and 932.. Really get the 922, it is HUGE I know it says mid tower, but I would be scared to see what the 932 looked like in person.. I have the 922, I love it. Its heavy weight and made great, couldn't ask for much better really.

Alot of space and cable room and management!

GREAT CASE

heh, newegg really surprises me sometimes. sometimes a lil order will take a week, and then they just shipped all of my parts ahead of the estimated time haha.

so i have everything except the OS and the graphics card. could i go ahead and put anything together or should i just wait?

You could get started with the build. Be sure to spend some quality time reading the motherboard owners manual first, though. Going through this checklist will help you avoid some of the most common first time builder mistakes.
