So i recently buyed an ASUS TUF Gaming FX504GE-E4027 laptop with the following specs :

Intel Core i5-8300H
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
8GB DDR4
250GB SSD NVMe + 1TB SSHD
Windows 10 64-bit

I want to use the laptop mainly for gaming so i installed a few of my games on it, but almost all of them are unplayeble (Examples : GTA V ; Overwatch ; Rust ; Minecraft ) because i am getting around 1 FPS in-game and even in the main menu . There are still some games that are playeble (Examples : PUBG ; Dead by Daylight ) but even in them i am not getting the expected FPS.
I searched why is this happening and i found that in my task manager my GPU usage is almost always on 0 % . Its not on 0 % only when i play one of the games , in which i am not getting 1 FPS ( PUBG or Dead by Daylight ). Here are some photos of my task manager so you can see the usage yourself :

When not in-game :

When in one of the games , in which i am not getting 1 FPS ( on this photo i am showing the task manager while playing PUBG on ultra settings ) :

When in one of the games , in which i am getting 1 FPS ( on thus photo i am showing the task manager while playing GTA V on lowest settings ) :

Also i checked if PhysX is handled by my video card and yes , it is handled by the 1050 TI so thats not the problem.

Another thing is that when i play a game and my GPU usage is 0 % my CPU goes up to 100 % usage and stays there.

I also have updated my drivers so thats not the problem too.

Thanks for reading this , if you know anything about this issue pls help me.

I have the same issue, and I've tried the same things. My default is to use the GPU, but the sensor tells me it isn't being used, The CPU gets up to 180 F meanwhile.
Acer Predator laptop, 16 GB i7; GTX 1060 w 6GB

This is really annoying.

I don't use a laptop myself, not my thing, but two things that can greatly impact performance when gaming:

1) Power settings - set this to HIGH PERFORMANCE (your picture shows it is currently set to BALANCED)
2) Make sure you have the laptop plugged in when you're gaming.

Go through this and see if it helps you set/create a high performance power setting for you: https://tunecomp.net/add-high-performance-plan-windows-10-power-options/
