hello guyz i bought last week a new video card its R7 240 1gb gddr5 but when i play games like battlefield 3 , alan wake american nightmare its temprature rises up to 50 degree when i searched in the catalyst i found option in the performance called AMD overdrive i opend it and i found that i can rise the fan speed up and gpu clock and other if i rised the gpu clock and the fan speen will the temp. get lowed or what or 50degrees is normal for this card by the way i have 4gb ram and pentium 4 3.00ghz (its temp rises to 60degrees when i play bf3 or alan wake or any high game but i can play bf3 on res 720p and all setting low ) please please and please anyone reply

Yes, 50 degrees is fine. Your GPU is doing a lot of work, so it's going to get a bit hot. GPU's are designed to work at 60+ degrees without much problem. Now, at 70+ degrees I start to get a little concerned.

my gpu clock setting is 780Mhz and my high performance clock setting is 1150Mhz it is the default setting if i rised them up that means that i overclocked my gpu ??? and are there any negative things will happen if i overclock (as u say if i do it , i overclocked my gpu ) my gpu as i heared that overclock rises the temp. up more then normal i dont know

overclock in small increments if you clock it further than your card can go you will see graphical glitches and eventually a crash. nothing to worry about though you just reset your pc and the clocks should be stock again then go from there and find a stable clock.

thank u very much guys my cpu's temp. rise up to 60-65degrees when iam playing is that normal (sorry guys its my last question as i have a pentium 4 ) and another thing how to know the precent of my overclocking as if i rised the gpu clock speed to the last it will be full overclocked ??????

That temperature is normal for your CPU. So no worries there

As for your second question ,when you start getting artifacts or random crashes or GPU temperature starts getting higher than safe limits while playing games then you should know that it is maximum overclock you can get out of your GPU and at that point you have to downclock your GPU a bit to avoid these issues.

That said, I think the maximum you overclock you can achieve with r7 240 will be around 1000-1050MHz on core clock and 920-950MHz on Memory. You may be able to go higher but first you should try with these values

but my cpu sometimes get higher to overload sometimes and my pc shutdown immediatly when i play high games i dont know what to do plz tell me what should i do i want to play bf3 without the overloading of my cpu do u know anything about reducing the temp of my cpu

There are few methods to make your CPU run cooler
1. The easiest thing you can do to help keep your PC cool is to give it a little breathing room by installing some case fans
2. Run your PC with side panel removed and turn on AirConditioner or ceiling fan.
3. Clean your CPU & Case fans
4. Move your PC to a cooler room
5. Replace CPU cooler thermal paste
6. If nothing above helps buy a new CPU cooler

thank you very much i will try ur methods and tell u back thanks again
