When I plug in my graphics card it gives me this message, "PLEASE POWER DOWN AND CONNECT THE PCIe POWER CABLE(S) FOR THIS GRAPHICS CARD". I have tried plugging in 6 and 8 pin PCIe power connectors into the graphics card, but it keeps giving me this message. Please help.

If you still ask about the gtx1060 with your hp EliteBook 840 G1, forget about it, buy the gaming laptop, sorry.

I figured out the problem with the 1060 6gb and it was a faulty 8 pin connector, so I fixed that, and the adapter works perfectly on a different laptop, but for some reason it doesnt work on the laptop I am trying to use it for. I don't think it is a whitelisting issue because the computer bots up without an error message when the network card is not installed. I think it is an issue with the display from the 1060 trying to run through the internal diplay so I unplugged the internal display and still no luck.
