I know it’s the hdd. I did all the tests and everything. It sounds like an amplified version of when a hard drive starts to fully boot up.If you "replaced the hdd " and its still doing it...it isn't the HDD.

It just doesn’t sound like the other hdds ive heard before. I guess it’s normal. Thanks anyways.I didn't hear anything except normal HDD noise.
It is a WD blackI didn't hear anything out of the ordinary.
What is the HDD make and model? Some of them are a bit noisier than others.
Directly to the case.Yup, just like the others said, only normal sounds there. Question, is the drive mounted directly to the case or are there rubber isolators involved? If it's hard mounted then the structure of the case will tend to amplify sounds.

Ok thanksIt sounds OK and for future reference you can get HD Sentinel from here and check the SMART health status of any drive HDD or SSD.
As mentioned above rubber isolators can reduce the vibration on the metal chassis would make less noise. I've used soft rubber washers (between the HDD and the screw) before to mount HDDs on cases where they made the whole case rattle! The cases were kind of flimsy but it helps reduce the vibration/induced noise a bit.
Can confirm; mine is WAY louder than my Toshiba and Seagate drives I've had. But it's a tradeoff you make for performance on a platter drive.WD blacks are pretty harsh sounding.
