[SOLVED] My HDMI cable does not fit in my monitor. There seems to be gold things sticking out of it.

Hi everyone,
I have an ACER GN246HL 144Hz monitor. It supposedly supports HDMI (from their website). However, I have an HDMI cable and it simply does not fit into the port in the monitor. The port on the monitor seems to be the same exact size as the cable. As the title states, I have some gold colored things sticking out of the port. I looked at YouTube reviews of the monitor and none of them have it. I attached a picture of what I mean since its a bit hard to describe.

I am very confused and a little annoyed that I can't even plug in an HDMI cable lol.

Yeah that is definitely a broken connector stuck in there. just get a pair of pliers and gently pull out
