Question My keyboard won't let my PC turn off ?

When I click shut down on my pc, it will go to shutdown and everything goes black on the monitors. But the pc won't actually turn off and keeps running. But if I remove my keyboard plugged in via usb, my computer will then turn off as normal? Anyone have an idea on why that is.

what make/model keyboard? or is it generic?
what details of your PC? USB drivers are built into windows but it could be you need a bios update on motherboard.

corsair k something i think cant remember, its ever since i got this keyboard. It happened the first days of using it which were over a year ago, do i need to enter bios to update them or do i go to the bios website?

EDIT:
I've never updated bios since i bought this pc which was around 3/4 years ago, just seen you need usb. will try it in near future to see if it fixes the problem.

which K series as you could try to reset it and see if that makes a difference - Yes, you can reset keyboards... though its mostly used to fix rgb problems.

I haven't tried this before never knew it was a thing, I'm about to turn off my pc now so I'll give it a try thank you for that!

i had k55 rbg pro ive just tried those steps and it hasnt flashed after the 10 seconds

it can be tricky as I couldn't get it to work right away. Its been over a year so I can't remember trick to it.

If you have a K55 keyboard:

Unplug your keyboard.
Hold down the FN and F4 keys and plug your keyboard back into your computer.
Release the FN and F4 keys after 10 seconds. The keyboard should flash at this point.
Open iCUE and update the firmware of your keyboard.
Ignore any incompatibility warnings that pop up.

I have a corsair straffe keyboard ... are you by any chance using the software program that came with the keyboard. I stopped using the software because the change light colours and strobe patterns did not work properly and on some occasions something in the program was stopping me from typing into the search box.

When i first got the keyboard i downloaded it to change stuff but then i deleted it after a day or two cause i had the same issue it was just messing stuff up. but after a week of using it wouldnt let my pc turn off, i though maybe it had to do with something i pressed on the keyboard, the M button which i guess is macros, idk. Will watch the video and see if it helps

done this about 20 times it wont work at all nothing flashes

are you on current firmware for keyboard? this guy also tried reset and it didn't work - link

i see lots of people having problems with that keyboard last month. Wonder if they messed up the drivers.
