My Laptop runs for an hour or so then shutsdown

Hello, I have been having this problem with my laptop recently. So it has been working and it runs for about an hour before it turns off, The battery is fully charged and it even does that when plugged in. Does anyone know what to do or how to fix this? Thanks

Its probably overheating. Get a program like hwmonitor and let me know what your cpu temps are.

Yup that would be it, thats much to hot especially if your just idling at the desktop. Thermal shutdown occurs around 100c I believe. Open task manager, what is cpu usage at the desktop doing nothing?

The most likely cause of this is your laptops fan and heatsink being caked with dust.

Check where the laptop sits and make sure it has airflow. Check the intake and exhaust vents for debris.

The CPU usage is low its always at like 25%

So what do I do just clean the laptop?

clean off the vents, and canned air to the heatsink to back-blast the piled up crud. If you can put something in the way of the fan blades to stop it from spinning, do it.

If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, look around for a PC shop, you might find one willing to take care of cleaning for a reasonable fee.

Ok I got all of the dust out just gotta reassemble
