hey, I have a problem about my CPU that it heats up real good and I don't like it, when its on standby it stays up to 50c-60c and when playing a game it goes to 90c-97c, and I was like "what joke is this?" oh I used speedfan to navigate my CPU's temp. and I just applied a new thermal paste but still stays on that certain temperature, is it maybe, just maybe the CPU in my laptop is devastated? cause I think this is the reason for giving me lag spikes and fps drop.

intel core i5-2410m is my CPU. I hope to get a solution right away. Thanks in advance! :)

That´s the cause I don´t like speedfan. Did you restart Windows, not only shutdown, use the restart button in windows. If this dowsn´t work, which operating system do you use?

Use a system recovery point, right before you installed speedfan the first time. Some installations you made after this time won´t work anymore, backup data before doing so.
Have you checked your laptopfan? Its rpm, and if it is full of dust ( or if it is dirty).
What you can try also is setting the fanspeed of the fan on max (100% in speedfan).

Did you clean out your fan assembly? Older laptops can get some dirt/fuzz buildup which reduces airflow and obviously creates problems with heat.

Just for reference, I have a similar CPU (i5-2467M), idle temps are 40s, load temps are 70s (all in C) so it's not that far off really. Remember, you have a pretty powerful little CPU in there, and as long as the cooling system isn't obstructed and is functioning as designed, it should be ok.

there is no dust, cause I just cleaned it up by the time i applied the thermal paste and how to increase my fanspeed using speedfan?

or will changing my CPU will make a difference?

yea, they're probably the same. that's the version of speedfan I am currently using. Thanks anyway.

ooh and also those temperatures on my laptop are currently normal? even though in speedfan they give the sign of a fire?

Toshiba Satellite L745-S4130 should completely be written on the label, if something else, post it please.

Like I said before, try coretemp or realtemp. Before using those tools, uninstall speedfan, I don´t trust this tool.

The fire symbol of speedfan is misleading, it just means, it´s hot

Can you hear the fan spinning with higher speed, when cpu is getting hot?

sorry for the late reply. internet was gone.

uum. i think speedfan just slowed my fans, like seriously i feel the fan very strong when playing games but by the time i used speedfan and configured my fan and then it slowed. it stays on lower spin speed, I tried uninstalling the speedfan but didn't worked it still spins slow. damn. oh And also speedfan's temp and coretemp's temperature are most likey to have the same estimation of my CPU's temperature. this sucks. my fan sucks. HAHA! oh well. taking risks pays off. I just know it. :)

win 8, I don't do recovery. I have done lots of things already and if I do backup there is no space even in my external HD, I really have lots of files. Haha! anyway the thing u said about restarting not shutting down helped. I really appreciate it. its back yo its strength.

I am gonna ask again about the normal temperature of a normal laptop that is about having 50c-55c even on idle times. and spikes to 80c-90c when doing intensive things like gaming. is this a normal temperature? Thanks.
