Discussion My LG Flatron L1919s monitor goes immediately into power saving mode after booting, showing a black screen after.

It stopped working one day, even though I hadn't done anything to it. I've also tried connecting it to other computers, with different cables.
The monitor's port is VGA.

How old is the monitor?

Do I understand correctly that during POST and boot that the display does indeed show (even if briefly) "something"?

What indicates that the display is into some power saving mode? LED, screen pop-up. what?

Will the system boot and display via Safe Mode?

I have not tried yet other monitors. However, after it boots, the power saving mode pop-up is all I get. Nothing after that, therefore I can't boot via Safe Mode. The monitor is roughly 14 years old.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU: Intel Pentium E5200
GPU: Radeon HD 4870
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P5Q-E
