My Minecraft wont start the gameplay.

I have the icon on my desktop, and when i start up i have a launcher (1.6.11) and that works OK. But when i click Play in the bottom middle of the screen, it goes to another window. the white screen Mojang. Then if you click on it after about one minute, it says Not responding. i have done this many times, and also i have uninstalled java (i now have the best version available) and i have re downloaded minecraft. Help!!

how are you still on 1.6.11 the game is on 1.8 try updating the game to newest and see if that fixes the problem and restart your pc after java installs

That's the launcher version.......

Have you altered anything whitin the game files? If so do a fresh reinstall of the game. Try uninstalling Java and installing the latest version appropriate for your system (x86 or x64).

https://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and https://minecraft.net/ are the sites you have to use.

Also, my computer was wiped at one point. Does minecraft involve any drivers that i might not have??

No, just Java and the Launcher itself.
