My monitor doesn't turn on when I plug into the VGA port of my motherboard

I don't have a converter yet so I can't connect it to my gpu, but I tried connecting it to the mobo, but it doesn't turn on. Can someone explain please?

Specs:
Asus prime a320-k
Ryzen 3 2200g
Gtx 1050
8gb ram
Seagate 1tb hdd
Samsung syncmaster b1930n
 
Solution
Typically when you connect a graphics card to your system the system defaults the video output to the card.

Go to your BIOS and check the graphics output, try changing it to integrated instead of PCI/PCIe
