Ok so my title says it all, so my monitor goes into Power save mode and my PC restarts when playing games on almost highest graphics.
Here is what I have done so far and how it has affected it. Ok so to begin with I began by turning the windows power options to maximum performance, I also did this in the nvidia control panel.
This allowed me to get a little higher graphics before my monitor turned black and said power save mode followed my restart. I only really play wow and eso and it happens in both. Another thing that seems to affect this problem is vertical sync. When it is enabled I can almost get full graphics, but when I disable it, I'm lucky to get medium and it becomes very unstable.
Also all my parts are new so it's less likely that I have faulty parts. Although I'm not ruling it out. Also another thing I've read is that it could be caused by heat. This isn't the case. Coretemp and it's showing 30C and my gpu is showing 40C.
Here is an overview of some of the relevant parts of my pc (if u need more please ask).
Motherboard, Asus ROG Maximus VI HERO.
CPU Intel i7 4770 3.5GHz
RAM 16GB
GPU Nvidia Geforce Gtx 770.
PSU XFx 850W PSU.
So i only built this PC a few days ago but I'm not very confident in the bios so didn't change much, I'm think I missed a power management option that will allow me to access more power to stop the power saver mode occurring. Also I have download latest version of my graphics card but haven't done any bios updates as I hear it can destroy your motherboard.
Ok so if you have any questions or need more details please feel free to ask.
