I have a UWQHD monitor with a max 144Hz refresh rate. My laptop runs a GTX 1060. I am using a 1.4 DP-USB-C cable. However, the highest option I can see for refresh rate in advanced display settings is 100Hz. How can I get it up to 144Hz? Any tips will be highly appreciated.

Running a 3440x1440p monitor isn't doing a 1060 any favors. Setting it to 144Hz from 100Hz isn't going to be much (if any) benefit other than allowing you to tax that diminutive gpu even harder. It's a laptop. It's entirely possible that it's capped to 100Hz just to prevent overheating on external appliances.

Ok. Noted; it is possible. Is there any way to figure out what Hz the GPU is capped at?
