Hi, i recently bought my new benq xl2411z monitor and i love it but whenever im playing a game like CSGO, if i turn the monitor off, the game crashes or exits. Any help will be appreciated. Also whenever i turn it off, it makes the sound like something got disconnected in my headphones.

The reason why i need to turn it off is because sometimes my roommate comes in, also on my old monitor (its really old and i forget the model) nothing would exit or crash if i turned it off

I would like to presume that this monitor is not just being used for "gaming." I need to call this out because it is part of the solution: bear with me.

The issue you are having is because you are interrupting the connection your GPU (whether built-in or a separate card) has with your monitor. Resuming the power to the monitor can, and will, distort the audio being fed through your monitor on startup.

You may try unplugging and re-plugging the cord when the following occurs:

Also whenever i turn it off, it makes the sound like something got disconnected in my headphones.

Replugging with the monitor turned on is different from when you turn it back on with audio still playing. The monitor is now actively seeking a signal like it is designed to do.

The video/game crash can be a result of either a plugin failing because of the lost connection (maybe a plugin timeout or crash) which seems unlikely but could be possible depending on the site. Please keep in mind that Steam (the most popular CSGO client) doesn't like inactive players, and the game may boot you when connection is slow, lost, or an error occurs.

A lot of the above answer is very circumstantial, so without more information I couldn't venture more than that. That being said, I have to say with all seriousness and not sarcasm, the best "solution" is not to turn off your monitor while gaming.
