I built a new pc a few days ago and I'm having problems as everytime I launch a game 2 minutes in my Pc crashes ( I don't mean the blue screen) and I can't do anything except turn the power off and back on.

The specs are below:

Gigabyte GTX 1080
Gigabyte Z370p D3
16 gb corsair ddr4 ram
i7 9700k 8 cores
650w corsair Gold PSU
240mm cooler master rgb liquid cooler
WD 1tb HDD
Crucial MX500 248gb SSD

I have tried using my old GPU 1050ti to launch a game to see if the GPU was the problem but my pc still crashed. I have reinstalled the ram and cpu. And applied new thermal paste. I have unplugged all my wires and put them back in correctly.

1 thing to say before I built this PC I had to update my mobo bios to F10 (which is the update that supports 9th gen) so I could use my new cpu.

Please can someone help!

When you built the new computer did you reinstall windows? How about trying one stick of RAM at a time?

Sounds like a heat issue. You are 100% stable using desktop applications (web browser, etc)?

Visually inspect your fans are turning (gpu, radiator, etc)
Use the AIO software to check the pump is operating

Next would be using a test application to stress various components individually, to see where the failure is. (prime95 / furmark / etc)

I have tried furmark on my gpu and the temps of it are at 39 degrees on my GPU so I assume it my GPU cant be overheating also I havent tried Prime 95 so i will get back to you with my results as the typical temp of my cpu in normal windows is 30 degrees as I have water-cooling.

I tried a new install of windows via the recovery method in the window settings so i can keep my files. But haven't done a brand new windows install and I have tried one stick of ram it didnt make a difference as my ram isnt the problem

@johnayoung I have just stress tested my CPU and gpu and the temps were fine and my PC hasn't crashed on either one, it seems to be only on games, which is odd?
