I upgraded from a 1060 3gb to a 1650 4gb. (I am aware that it is a bit worse, but my 1060 was older than the dinosaurs and the fans were broken. There was no other gpu better than 1650 that I could get in my area. And amazon has shipping prices that cost more than the product itself) So once I got my new gpu, got the new graphics drivers from nvidia and played insurgency sandstorm. And It was just horrible. It was stuttering very hard and stayed at 50 to 30 fps. Always changing and just being a nightmare. Totally unplayable. Then I tried skyrim. Skyrim was stuck at 56 for some reason. But it felt really choppy. And I had low and medium settings on. So I decided to remove every display driver on my computer. Since I didnt do that when intalling my new gpu. So I uninstalled every driver and downloaded the new drivers for my 1650. It didnt really do anything. Helped a little maybe. But everything is still the same. I tried playing far cry 3 and its stuttering and quite low fps. I knew 1650 was bad but is it really this bad that it cant run a 10 year old game? I dont think so. Please can anyone give guidance? I am getting so stressed over this stupid issue. Nothing is working.

Use DDU to remove the gpu drivers.

Now install the new gpu driver.....test.

Yeah, there will probably be about 15 percent bottleneck, but that aint much. Try MSI Afterburner and turn fan speeds up. Replace thermal paste, maybe even thermal pads.
WARNING! DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE! DOING THIS INCORRECTLY WILL RESULT IN THE SHORTING OF YOUR CARD, AND POSSIBLY HARM TO YOU!

When I got my gpu I also got a new cpu cooler that came with thermal paste so Im good on that end. Why should I turn my fan speed up though? My temps stay around 70 in most games that ive tried

Just in case the pc sees some overheat, is is lowering performance. Ok. Go to Nvidia Control Panel and sift around till you find an FPS and performance cap. If your FPS and performance on your card is capped, it won't perform well. Also, clean your card with a can of compressed air.

But my card is literally brand new why would it have dust? Or do you mean something else?

I dunno dude. Sometimes cards have build-up inside, either dust or something else. If ypu can't fimd the problem, call whoever ypu bought it from, return it, and get a new one.

use DDU and uninstall the previous display drivers. then install new drivers. However, can also check for airflow and PSU power delivery. The link to DDU is given below. Chao
