ok so i have searched the threads but i cant find what im looking for what i want to know is, I have an hp pavilion 6645c it an old one i know but it is only a second computer mainly to test on. lol . But anyways it has a cognac 20000127 main board in it with a 566 mhz celeron and i have a 1000 mhz celeron i want to put in it. some say the board can only handle 800 mhz but ive seen a couple outdated threads on some site where a guy says he put a 1.0 ghz in just fine. so i tried and it wont even post. so if anyone has any idea of how to make it work that would be greatly appreciated. oh yeah and i have flashed the bios to the lates version

Is that 1000 MHz cpu a Tualatin celeron? Does it have a steel cap on its top? If so, you'll need an adapter to run the Tualatin Celeron. AFAIK, a 1000 MHz Coppermine celeron should work just fine.

I own an old HP 6835 that came stock with an 800MHz Celeron and used the old Cognac board. 128mb ram, 12x CD burner, 30GB hdd. It was a great computer back in 2001 for the price. Always loved how small the case was. I wanted to continue to use my 6835, but to be honest, it was just too slow, even when maxed out with a 1.2 GHz Tualatin Celeron w/adaptor, 256mb ram, 40GB 7200rpm hdd, and ATI Rage128 PCI graphics card. Not wanted to get rid of it, I decided to perform a more radical upgrade. Now it has in it a Jetway JM26GT3-SVP AM2 socket motherboard (which is pretty impressive if you really look at the space limitations you have in that case. It's one of the very few boards, AMD or Intel, that will fit.) along with a Sempron Le-1100, along with a Rosewill 200 watt SFX power supply, 2 x512MB sticks of ram, same 40 GB HDD now with PATA to SATA adapter, 16x DVD burner, and card reader.

Here's a few pics:
