Hi all, i mentioned to someone in a previous thread that Id share my overclocking on a simular kind of setup.
Right for starters the setup is:
Q6600
Asus P5Q-E (P45)
PC8500 Dominator 2x1GB
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Antec Three Hundred
Thermaltake tough power 750w
x1900GT (Soon to be 4870)
Ok, all went well on the build. Im just so glad i didnt go for a bigger CPU cooler as that 1 was a tight fit. It bent parts of the heatsinks on the motherboard and i had to remove the fan to get it into position! When puttin it back on (with force) i snapped part of it, but it was easily resolved with super glue!! haha
The bios offered great overclocking with an up to 800MHZ on the FSB and 9x multi. I set the multi to 8x and worked in stages of 20 on the FSB.
It easily reached 3.2GHZ, what i wanted!!! and allowed the RAM to still run at 1066MHZ.
Im prime95'ing the system now! Hope it pases!
Oh btw, on the antec 300 you can choose from low, med or high fn speeds! These are on low!
Heres my results soo far
Hasnt gone past 63 degrees!
kkthanksbye
