Okay so I'm having problem with external Hard drive. I've been using this hard drive for 1 year w/o any problem. One day I lend this hdd to my cousin and when I get it back the and connected this to a tv it wont opened but the light on hdd indicates it is connected. I then try it on my pc and it wont show in my computer but it is connected because the light is open and it says it is connected. I even tried disk management and it says Disk 1 is unknown or Not initialized. Please help me my brother will kill me if he find out that his hdd fucked up.

Hi there Eldz21,

That is really unpleasant. :(

Do you have some data stored on the drive? I believe you can try to access the drive with some data recovery tool. There are many threads on that in the community.
After that, you can see if you can test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool(both short and extended tests): http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=Wnb6I7

Is the drive under warranty?

In case you have a spare cable, it will not hurt to attach the drive with it.

Also, as hang-the-9 suggested, it may be a good idea to ask your cousin what he did with the drive.

Let us know how this goes,
D_Know_WD :)

He said he just transfer a movie file and that's all nothing more.
Okay so I run WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool Both pass because there's no capacity xD
I don't know if the file is under warranty but I'll ask my brother because it's a gift to me and he's a military officer so we rarely got good contact
