Last night i was watching some video on youtube strong beeping noise came from my headset and everything froze, I restarted my computer and it took more than usual to boot up.Once it booted up in down right corner instead of wifi signal bar i noticed screen icon with cable and x next to it. It seems that it cant recognize my network card,i didn't touch my newtork card and it seems to be ok once i looked inside of the computer. I saw somewhere that it may be software uptade issue but i dont think so since my pc was bought 2 years ago and in my country they use hardware that no one updates anymore. I dont know name of my network card since i threw away box.

Hi there,
it looks most likely that the driver needs a reinstall with a recent one ! Sometimes after updates old equipment doesn't work anymore because of incompatibility.

Goto: Control Panel - device manager - rightclick on the top (name of your PC) and click on "search for new devices".
usually it finds changes.

Now goto network adapters and double click the broken one: on the 4th tab (details) click on the properties-pull-down menu and select Hardware ID's.
below, in the value-box you'll see something like: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1502&SUBSYS_04941028&REV_04

VEN is the VENDOR-ID
DEV is the DEVICE-ID

Now you can check vendor and Device on this page: http://www.pcidatabase.com/

VEN is the VENDOR-ID (8086=INTEL)
DEV is the DEVICE-ID (1502= Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Card)

You only need to know which driver to download from which Site !

@grana92.

Nothing gets fried so easily in a PC. Except for capa's if you never clean out your PC !
You can always repair broken parts. but that's not necessary here !

"The strong beep" cannot be checked as beep-code, it's probably the last note when it froze !
You can only check beep-codes at startup not after OS started !

Changing card to another slot will only reinstall existing drivers to the next port ! (you need new drivers!!!)

Let us know !

i went where you told me to go and in device status it says this device cannnot find enough resources that it can use (code 12)
if you want to use this device you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

I installed the driver and now my pc wont turn on,it shows that windows 8.1 logo flag and then blue screen comes sometimes its just blue and sometimes it says that something didnt load properly and it keeps restarting over and over again

PROBLEM FIXES I BACKED UP MY PC TO 1/1/2015 IT ALL WORKS NOW

Nice to hear the pbm got solved !

A system restore fixed it ? then you had some updates which messed up some drivers !?
with the next updates you might have the issue again. Lets hope not !

did you run the updates again ?

Cheers, Louise.
