My PC freezes and makes noise

So I just built my first gaming pc and everything went smoothly. But unfortunately it just started having a problem to where my PC itself makes a scratching/whirring noise then my game freezes for a second or two then comes back on. One time it just froze entirely and I had to manually shut it off. I’m really new to the pc world so I have no idea what to do and no searches come up with the same problem that I am having. They all say the sound comes from their speakers but mine is coming from the tower.

I have a 1TB Seagate hard drive with nothing on it
and a ADATA 256gb SSD with all of my stuff on it ( only about 60gbs used though)
And my friend built the exact same PC and his does not have the problem that mine does
