Do not test mixed memory. Only test one stick or one pair at a time.

Nop they worked yesterday and never fallSomething to be aware of is that the memory controller is in the CPU. If your CPU is failing, it could cause the issues you are now seeing.
CPUs are pretty durable, but they can and do fail. Especially when as old as yours.
