My pc is getting restarted

Hello,
i have installed windows xp in my Compaq c700. it is getting restated with blue screen,i m not able to run my laptop properly. can you snuggest me what is the problem & what is needed to make it correct.

Boot into safe mode. Select the setting to not restart on error (or something to that effect).
Then you might see what the error is
