can someone explean this problem. i have a hp xw4400 and this motherboard should support the core2quad q6600 but it does not. so i switched back to core2duo e6600 and put 6gb ram in it instead of 4gb. and now the pc will not start and keeps beeping all the time and it will not stop. checked my ram and graphicscard and cpu fan and motherboard cables but the psu shutdown instandly with the computer if i want to try to boot. is my psu dead? of is my motherboard dead? please help me...

nothing... i still have got the same problem.
according to google its the psu or system board (motherboard) or keyboard problem (i pulled the keyboard cable out of the case so that i am sure it is not the keyboard that is causing the problem)'.
so are there any more suggestions?

sorry for my bad english by the way.

Blinks red 8 times (once per second), then a 2-second pause, and then 8 beeps
Invalid system ROM based on bad checksum. Entering FailSafe (Boot Block) recovery mode:
1.Reflash the system ROM (FailSafe Boot Block ROM Recovery).
2.Replace the system board.

that doesn't sound promising.

i am replacing it with an asrock motherboard. will this help?
actually i am not so noob in these things but i never had these problems before in my life so... probably i need to replace the motherboard. i will try it.

well I found the problem. it just needed a bios update before I switched the cpus.
