my pc turns on then off and im not sure why?

help my pc turns on and off consecutively i see the leds on my fan go on and off but nothing else please help.

new, i got the motherboard from craigslist saying it works i tried tinkering with it for the last few hours, im not sure of the specific motherboard, but i know it has an intel i7 sandy bridge in it.

yes but it wasnt a full system it was missing ram but i had some to complete it.

Note: i tried to play with it more and i tried to reset the BIOS or the CMOS battery but nothing yet, but when i have my power supply connected to the cpu and the mobo it just resets over and over, but when i turn it on without the cpu it stays on? but once i plug another thing in it shuts down once again. this is hurting my head.help

I think that your RAMs are not properly seated. Try leaving single RAM module. Make sure that it's properly installed. Test each slot.

ive tried that also ive tried putting all 4 or dual channel or not or single it wont work? i havent tried all four in single yet should i try?

Can you take the pc back to where you bought it and have those guys installing the rest of components?

ive told the guy about it not working and he said he will get back to me

Since under warranty, it's better to let them handle the issue.
