Hi,
I recently bought a new 4k monitor, the BenQ PD2700U. I had an Asus monitor 1080p 60hz and everythings worked fine.

The problem came when I connected both of them. My pc wasn't showing any signal, only three long beeps and three short beeps (hp bios).

The thing is that if I turn it on only with my old monitor, it does boot, and once it is on, if I connect the new when everything works fine.

So in order to make everything work everytime I want to use my pc. I have to disconect the new monitor, turn on my pc, and once Windows is showing, then connect the new one.

I also have installed all drivers. I connect the old one by HDMI and the new one by DP, both connected directly yo my graphics card.

I-7700k
16GB ram
1070
Z170
500W

Thanks!

Hi, Lot of threads related to dp issues. Some indicated the cable as the culprit. Still no definitive answer. What dp cable using?

It's a mini display port that it's included with the monitor. But I tried HDMI and it happens the same. I even tried to connect it throw the motherboard by hdmi and won't make the bios beeps but it doesn't boot either.

I talked to BenQ support, and they don't have and answer to my problem...

It seems that my bios doesn't have any of that options.
This is it's version: hp bios 2.18.1263.
I've searched through all the panels and I couldn't find anything related with dual monitors...

Have you tried using the new one by itself?
You could try setting your resolution to 1080p on the 4k to see if it will post like that, then changing to a higher output. Then adding the second monitor?
This is just a guess, but it seems like the refresh rates on the 2 monitors are different and the native display is different on both when trying to use them at the same time.

Not familiar with the HP BIOS, and I can't find an useful manual.
You said " But I tried HDMI and it happens the same " Can you detail it? What ports did you use and what happened?

I was saying that no matter what cable do I use (HDMI/DP), that the result is always the same, windows not booting and the three long and short beeps. That the only way to make the new monitor work is having just the old monitor conected, turn on the pc, and once windows is booted, then conect the new monitor, and everything works just fine, until I turn off the PC.

I tried just using the new one with hdmi and dp and nothing, same answer.
The refreshrates on both monitors are the same, 60hz. But I will try to set the resolution to 1080, and boot it. Anyway, I dont know what else to try...

Once you get them both up and running, try swapping the display cables with eachother and see if you maintain a picture. If so, reboot and see if it fixes the issue.
Perhapse delete the drivers and power down then connect them both and boot back up to see if that corrects. The last thing I can think of is a power supply issue where the dual display post is drawing too much power and stopping you from posting properly or something weird like that.

The problem with swapping cables is that the dp that I have is a mini displayport to displayport, so I can't conect it to my older monitor.

Also, with the power supply issue, I have the one that came with my desktop, (Desktop HP OMEN 870-222ns), which is a 500W psu. But I dont think that's the problem.

I'm sure that the main issue is with the bios, but if it doesn't have any monitor options in there, then I'm thinking that meanwhile I still use this motherboard, the problem will still.
