My PCI-E FireWire Card Does Not Seem to Fit Into My Computer

I'm trying to fit a PCI-E x1 card into my computer to transfer over camcorder videos over firewire, but I don't think the card fits into my computer.

I would attach some pictures I took, but I'm not sure how to. I think the part of the card that should stick out of the slot in the back is just too short to make it all the way to my PCI-E slot.
I've tried all three of the slots that are available (one of which is a PCI-E x1, the rest are x16).

Is it possible that the card just does not fit, or am I doing something wrong?

your card might have the low profile case backplate, meaning it's half as tall as normal backplates and as such card wont reach the pci-E slots (or any slots)

It is also possible that the card is not actually PCI-E but PCI if it is older card, in which case it possibly wont work.

Example PCI-E 1x card with both low and high profile backplates is here:

You've nailed it, this card definitely has the low profile backplate and my case would need the normal one.

Thank you!
