Not sure what sub-category this goes into......

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H Rev 1.1
Intel i5-4690K 3.5 GHZ 6MB cache LGA1150
Seasonic GX-550
Win10

Just sitting at my desk typing away and then....I think I hear a click and the monitor goes dark. A second or two then the power supply and fans come up and then the boot-up screen.

Is there a forensic or something that remembers why it re-booted?

It is not the auto-restart of Win10 after an update.

What more can I tell you?

Thanks..........

Solution
may be power cables are loose.
try reseating rams, gpu, cpu power. This happens when cables that come from psu to power the cpu, are not plugged firmly into motherboard.
specially when assembling, technician thinks he might soon have to unplug a cable to change a part, so he doesn't plug it firmly first time and never actually gets back to fix it.
