Hello,

So I downloaded Ubuntu 22.04LTS and used that to install KVM.
And upon attempting to use virt manager to create my first VM, I get a black screen that says:

"SeaBIOS (version 1.15.0-1)
Machine UUID 8b2c2abe-20c7-4196-a861-a981c32070a8

iPXE (https://ipxe.org) 01:00.0 CA00 PC12.10 PnP PMM+7FF8AB50+7FECAB50 CA00

Booting from Hard Disk...
Boot failed: not a bootable disk

No bootable device.
-"

I would post an image, but this website makes that difficult.

Thank you

Then your KVM sees nothing to boot from.

You must try to boot from some other OS as a guest. I've never used the KVM subsystem, but a Linux ISO would probably work to boot from and install the chosen OS as a guest.

Have you read through the instructions for this?

You'd like me to download another OS on top of Ubuntu and use KVM on that? Why would it recognise another OS and not the one I'm using?

Yes, I read the instructions when installing KVM, I just didn't expect to run into this

KVM, or VirtualBox, or VMWare, is a method to run a second OS as a guest.

You have your host system. Winsdows, Ubuntu, whatever.
Then, a guest OS. Again, Windows, Linux, whatever.

Currently, I have a Win 10 guest system, running inside my Win 11 Pro host.
A second OS.
Basically, a whole second PC, encapsulated in software.

Ah, okay. Got it.

Ubuntu > Second OS > KVM > VM > Third OS > Browser

That's the only reason why I'm getting that error?

Thank you for the replies

Preferable to post links to the pics directly in here, rather than reddit.
I don't know why imgur doesn't work for you, but it is pretty universal.

What I mean is when I come up with a new question that I'm really confused on, I come here and make a post on Reddit for multiple opinions, so I was wondering if it'd be against the rules to do so for you to see here too, rather than me just copy and pasting?

The problem with that, is that you may well get conflicting answers and suggestions.

None of us out here know what the other people may have told you to do.
