My wireless connection does not show up in the list ????

I was using my wireless connection on laptop until my wireless card stopped working. I used my ethernet cable to connect to internet. Later I bought usb wireless adapter so that i could connect to wifi. Now the problem is that it will show all the wireless connections in my neighbourhood except my own.
I think my wireless has now been set as default connection for LAN. That's why it never show up in wireless connections available. My wifi is working fine on other devices as it was working before. Someone pls tell me how can i fix this problem?

Did you maybe setup your wireless as a hidden network and forgot? Did you install the drivers for the new wifi card from the disk or from the vendor support site? If from disk, check the web site for updated drivers.

Miss Sarkaria you may have a need to fully format your computer
and when your done you need to up date all your drivers.it can work...
