NAS not connecting to SKY Hub since ISP Switch

Hi guys, need some help here as I am really stumped.

Overview of hardware etc:
NAS - Seagate Business Storage 4-Bay NAS (8TB) Model # - SRN04D
Old ISP - TalkTalk
New ISP - Sky
IP Address of NAS - 192.168.1.16 (Under old ISP)(and new ISP?)
Connection of NAS to Sky Hub via a TP-Link 8 gigabit switch.

Recently, we have just switched over to Sky and installed the Sky Hub - everything on our network (Mobile devices, Consoles, Computers etc) all works perfectly, apart from our Network Attached Storage.

It has been since the switch to Sky where the problem has started in that the Network will not pick up the NAS at all. So far I have tried rebooting everything, changing Ethernet cables, expanding address range within the Sky Hub homepage from 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.254 to 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.1.254.

The only thing I can think of is that the IP of the NAS needs changing so that it can be picked up by the Sky Hub(?), but doing this I am not sure as the Seagate NAS Discovery is not picking up the NAS either.

One final thing, I have tried pinging both the IP Address of the NAS (192.168.1.16)(this returns all packets lost) and pinging the Host BA-XXXXXX (which the ping cannot find the host) - which to me indicates that the NAS is simply not on the network for something.

Sorry if the above seems a little fragmented but I tried my best to include everything to help you guys help me!

Thank you very much in advance

You can't change the IP address without changing the netmask as well, so your NAS will continue to remain hidden from other network devices.

If you want to keep a static IP address on the NAS, it's best to do one of the following.

- Change the Sky Hub range to 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1 254. Make sure the NAS has a static IP address outside of the DHCP range of the Sky Hub.

or

- Change the NAS IP address to fall within the range of the existing Sky Hub subnet (e.g. 192.168.0.200). This will involve directly connecting a computer with a static IP of 192.168.1.2 (or anything in the same subnet), and making the change.

Hi there,

Thanks for a swift response!

A few queries as it is all a bit much to take in:
Solution 1 - What would be the DHCP range of the Sky Hub be? Would it be .1.2 to .1.254 (if that's the case then the IP of the NAS is currently .1.16 so wouldn't that be in the range)

Solution 2 - What would I have to actually go on to make the changes to the NAS IP address? As whenever I type the IP of the NAS in the browser it doesn't load the admin page for the NAS, nor does the Seagate Discovery software find the NAS on the network so I'm at a stuck as to how to change the IP

Thanks for your patience!

Most routers allow you to change the DHCP range, and the default range doesn't normally cover the entire subnet. If you want to keep the x.x.1.16 address, you should be able to use the address reservation feature on your router if it's available. If not available, then you'll have to adjust the DHCP range or change the IP address of the NAS.

Once you make the changes to the router, you should be able to access the NAS. Otherwise, you'll need to temporarily set a PC with a static IP of 192.168.1.2, then directly connect the NAS via network cable. The software should then be able to find the NAS, or you should be able to use it's IP address via web browser to access the GUI.
