hello everyone i am building a NAS device with my older system i3 4130 , 8 GB RAM . now what i want to do is activate my main workstation by wake on lan for unattended access .
i have a non static ip address so i cannot use wol directly but since my NAS will be on 24*7, i was wondering if i could send wol signal from NAS remotely to start my main system .

PS i havent installed any OS on NAS

Solution
Very much in doubt that the NAS OS would be able to do anything that would remotely start another computer.

Maybe send some automated error code or email but the target computer would already need to be on in order to respond in some meaningful manner.

You will need to take a very close look at whatever NAS software you are considering for use.

Usually it would be the other way around: main system would be turned on and then "wake" the NAS.

It may not even be necessary to have the NAS wake the main system.

Windows 10 has built in means to schedule startups and shutdowns.
