need a high end A64 mobo --check it out

I'm going to get an Ahlon 64 3500+ 90nm here pretty soon. I can't figure out what motherboard to get though, it seems like most of the new ones are all good...I don't even know what chipset I should be looking for. I was very intereseted in the nforce4, but PCIexpress isn't needed for me right now, those cards are just outta stock and too much money for 0 performance gain 😉.

does anyone have any suggestions for a an athlon 64 socket 939 motherboard with 4 dimms of dual channeling ddr400, 2 SATA ports w/ RAID 0, AGP 8x (unless someone made a board with AGP express that works exactly the same speed as current AGP slots so I could upgrade later), and onboard gigabit. Any help at all would ROCK!

hey there - i've just purchased the amd64 3500+ waiting for the gigabyte nforce4 ultra mobo (not sure when it will be availible) im looking to get the PCIe 6800 GT / with some form of corsair ram

I had the gigabyte one ordered, but man, there isn't even an ETA on it. On newegg, most products out of stock always have ETAs. This makes me think they won't get em for a long time. I'm going to get the Chaintech nForce4 one. It looks perfect and I've done a bit of research on it. Thanks for the support

did you know that your 3400+ run at 2.2 Ghz with 1 meg cache while the 3500+ run at 2.2 GHz with512k cache??? The only difference is that the 3500+ is dual channel, which give about 3-5% speed increase, but this difference is doesnt apply here because the 512 megs cache your current CPU has close the gap!!

My question here is why do you want to spend money on a completely unuseful upgrade?

You dont need PCIe, so I dont see the point. Overclocking??? well, just get a good nforce3 socket 754 board to replace that crap VIA board you have now and overclock that 3400+...You are not guarantee that your 3500+ will overclock well!!!

You just get hyped by the marketting for dual channel superiority...but there is none...

So please...tell me your idea!
