I got an Acer Aspire xc 780 ur14 and I need a bigger case. Problem is I heard the mother board is only compatible with the case it came with. Could anyone clarify please?
It would be a matter of the positioning of standoffs. On the link above, you see how the mobos are perforated at intervals? Those would need to align with your board in order for it to be able to be mounted in an mATX case.
Here are the detailed specs of micro atx: http://www.formfactors.org/developer%5Cspecs%5Cmatxspe1.2.pdf
so measure where your holes are and if they match.
I can't find any info about this motherboard. What size is it? Try and compare it to one of these:

I measured it and found that its about 9.6 inches across and 8.5 inches high. It appeared to be a micro atx. one of the problems i heard though is that because this is a pre built acer desktop the motherboard only works with acer cases. Is this true?
