Hi all,
Its been a while since i have really upgraded. I currently own a MSI KT3 Ultra paired with 1gb of kingston 333 value ram.
My current video card is a Creative Labs branded Geforce2 Ultra with 64 mb of video ram.
Just upgraded to a Athlon 2600+ wich i thought my board would support... But to my suprise it didnt... It seems it only supports a 2600 but an older version with a difrent bus speed and difrent size cache. Mine has 512 cache so i am guesing its a barton.
So i am now in the need for an upgrade as i HATE running that cpu as a 2000+
I need a few recomendations from my fellow board members on what to get i dont want it to exceed 110$ since i will ship it to South America but would like something feature full stable , fast and PERHAPS an IGP ? as well to upgrade my geforce2 ?
Give me a few ideas as I wish to buy as soon as posible :)

thanks all in advance

Did you try updating your BIOS?

If you need an IGP board, then get ABIT NF7-M

Yes tried it, and it seems that my board does not support it since i dont have the Ultra2 version.
Do you think getting an IGP board in this case as a good solution ? or would you recommend keeping my current video card and getting a board till i can upgrade my current video card as well ?
This is my current MB : http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=KT3_Ultra

You're saying the CPU doesn't work at all? Or that it only works at a slower speed?

Cool, I had to modify my KT3 Ultra (or was it Pro?) to support newer cores. Anyway, it looks like his best solution would be to return the 166MHz bus 2600+ and either try to find the old 133MHz bus version, or get a 2400+, or maybe even get a mobile CPU since those have unlocked multipliers (I THINK his board DID have multiplier adjustment).
