I am attempting to build a PC with my teenage son. This will be his first build. We have $1000 total and want to make a gaming/vr capable machine that we can upgrade later as his allowance allows. I am looking for help on motherboards, cpu and graphics cards. Any help would be appreciated.

@logainofhades build is good but I'd change the memory to 3600 CL16 as 3rd gen Ryzen performs better with it and will still be within budget.
