Hello!
I have a question regards updating PC gpu..
I have a 10700k and Rtx3070....
What is best gpu to update to rtx 3090 or 4070ti?
Also 4070ti runs on pci5 gen while 3090 on pci4..
Does it will make difference if I put 4070ti on old system pci4 ?
The PCI-Express version won't make any difference for those cards. As for which you should get, it depends on what the prices are. However, I wouldn't recommend buying a new video card because there's another point that you need to consider. Your CPU can't keep up with either of those new cards and you'd be wasting your money by spending it where you shouldn't.
The i7-10700K will be a bottleneck to both of those cards. At 1080p, even the faster i9-10900K will bottleneck an RX 6600, a card that costs less than $250 and is FAR slower than either of the cards that you're looking at. I don't believe that you'd get any real increase in gaming performance from upgrading your RTX 3070 because your CPU is already bottlenecking your RTX 3070 at 1080p and 1440p.
I've cued it up to the point where this is addressed.
You might want to think about upgrading your platform before blowing all that money on a mid-range video card. It's even worse with nVidia cards because GeForce drivers have a higher CPU overhead than Radeon drivers.
If you upgrade your CPU, even with the same card, you will get much better framerates. Upgrading your GPU would be money spent on essentially nothing.
