Need advice on sata3 vs sata2

im thinking of upgrading to a Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX
is there a noticeable increase in speed if im coming from a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250820AS

how much of a difference would 8 times more cache make?
is sata 2 alot more faster than sata 3?
is it worth paying the extra?

there's zero difference between sata2 and sata3 for mechanical drives

SATA 2 (3Gb/s) speeds are from 151MB/s to 300MB/s.
SATA 3 (6Gb/s) speeds are from 301MB/s to 600MB/s.

The WD Caviar Black has data transfer speeds of 126MB/s.
The Seagate Barracuda has data transfer speeds of 72MB/s.

Yes, there should be some real-world difference if you upgraded to the Caviar Black.

The only difference is that the WD black is faster in read and write, I am not sure a regular user would notice the difference, people that read and write large files to the drive often would.
