Hi,

I want to upgrade my system's storage and RAM.
Here is the link to my system config detail : http://.
I am looking to add a 2 tb 7200 or more RPM hdd in the system as the current 1 TB hdd is running out of space. Currently i have 2 X 4 GB RAM and i want to boost it to 16 gb which is the max capacity of the motherboard. I need to run virtual box , in order to run linux in it.

Is it advisable to add a SSD hdd in the current system config?

There is a issue with my graphic card (i think) because when i increase the monitors brightness the screen looks weird and when i decrease its brightness, the content on screen looks better. Is it the issue of Graphic card or monitor?

Please suggest all the options.

Thanks,

Sanny.

I will always recommend an SSD, even a cheap 120GB SSD will bring new life to the system, HDD's are getting cheaper and cheaper, I saw a 4TB not long ago go for $110 USD.

8GB of ram you can probably get away with most things, Depends on what you are doing with the system. In the meantime, I'd recommend that you just save up for the ram.

Depends on what you need more, Getting an SSD will free up some space on your existing HDD, and then you can get another or a bigger HDD.

I don't think you need an SSD unless your looking for faster boot time with your OS as well as other applications you use on a daily basis. About your RAM issue I recommend buying DDR3 16GB Kingston,Crucial, GSkill, and Corsair RAM since I have used them before in the past. As for your graphics card try installing the latest drivers from the manufacture I will leave you a link bellow. If it is not the drivers try connecting your pc to another monitor or tv that supports 1080p to see if it is the monitor if not then you know it is the graphics card, and it is time to upgrade the gpu sadly.

As they said, moving your OS to a say, 120GB SSD for example (which is what I use) would help. It will also MASSIVELY increase boot times and windows responsiveness.

120GB SSD is useless these daysfor an OS drive. if you are going to be using windows a 250GB is the minimum these days because once that drive get close to full the performance will be so bad it will not be worth it

I wouldn't say useless, I have just windows and drivers installed on mine and it still has about 80GB free, if you install everything else on a second hdd then you'll be fine. Now if you can grab a 250GB for just a little more then yeah its totally worth it, but in my opinion going out and spending $50+ for going up from 120GB to 250GB may not be worth it. Of course though my needs are different and everyone else's will also vary. If you plan on installing other programs on it too then it may be worth investing in a larger capacity one aswell, but if you are just installing windows, drivers and web browser or two then that is more than enough.

Same, my Grandmother has Lenovo ThinkCenter M75 Mini Desktop 1 drive, 120GB SSD, Windows 10 all up to date, all the programs such as Malwarebytes, MagicJack, Chrome, Firefox for back up browser, Adobe reader, Microsoft office 2010. it still has about 80 - 70GB, and it has Second Life on it which takes up about 15GB with all its cached data.

My aunt also has a 120GB PNY SSD for a boot drive, and I tell ya, shes not a clean person when it comes to files, Music, Videos, Pictures you name it! though she has I would say about 30GB last time I looked.

I'd say 120Gb is vary much worth it, Sure 240 or 256 is of course better, but You can get away with 120GB and quite a few programs.

Granted mine is a 240GB but I'm only using 80GB, and this OS has been upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and all of its updates, Music, Pictures, Restore points all left alone with Page filing, Let me tell ya, I got a lot of software installed....

Yeah, pretty much that. If you couple it with a 7200 RPM drive of at least 2TB then you will be golden or 4TB if you can find one for a decent price, though theres also always the option of RAID later on down the road if your mobo supports it giving you better performance and an easy backup in case one fails budget depending though.
