[SOLVED] Need help b450 pro wifi bios update 3rd gen ryzen.

The bios is from rev 1.0 so I need to update to f51 but it says on f40 onwards that I need the latest amd chipset update installed. Do I need it installed before updating bios? If so, how can I install it? I only have this 3600 cpu.

If you only have the 3600 CPU how do you know what BIOS version you have ?

revision 1 and f40 or later BIOS are 2 separate things. they don't go together.

i have that board and it came ready to go for ryzen 3000 series. put the chip in and it should be updated and ready to go. the box itself should say "ryzen 3000 ready" to let you know it's all updated.

It says revision 1 so I thought it's an outdated bios hehe.

It does say 3000 ready. So I don't need to worry about incompatibility? Yay thanks!

no problem.

often a board may be updated and instead of renaming it, they'll say revision 1.1 or rev 2.o and so on. this is to keep any feature changes made obvious when looking to buy.

but you'll be good to go as is for the 3000 series cpu.
