Hey all.

I'm looking to get a new rig in 2 months time and I need some help building it. I want to be able to max out any and every game without a shadow of doubt at a minimum of 1920x1080, 60fps for the coming years.

I'm drawn towards building around an i7-7700k, but not sure what GPU, MOBO, and RAM I need, or if the i7-7700k is even the right choice of CPU.

I currently have 1866MHz DDR3 16GB RAM, will I have to upgrade to DDR4? Haven't built a PC in years.

Help please ? :)

P.S:

CURRENTLY USING:
FX 8350
GTX 970
Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0
750watt gold EVGA PSU
7200RPM HDD
DDR3 16GB 1866MHz

Thanks mate.

With regards to my question about i7-7700k, is it high end?

Is there a cheaper option for the motherboard, closer to the $100 mark?

N.B
I plan to overclock my GPU and CPU without changing voltages.

What will be the main usage of this system ? ONLY gaming ? Productivity ? . Btw jwcrellin forgot to add a PSU and Storage unless u will keep the used ones (EVGA 750watts and 7.2k RPM HDD) for the new one :) If its going to be for productive purposes u can also buy the new Ryzen CPU's . Let us know m8 :)

Hey thanks for the input.
yeah pretty much only for gaming.

Yeah I'm keeping my PSU and HDD.

So why do u want to build an INTEL system ? Didnt u check out Ryzen "5" ?
