Need help choosing DVD DRIVE adapter

I have a HPDVD740 DVD drive, I was wondering if I could use this adapter to somehow connect this drive to my motherboard because my motherboard doesn't accept that IDE sleeve cable, so can I somehow connect my optical drive to the Sata on my motherboard through this adapter? Instead of buying an adapter that might kind of sort of work, just buy a new DVD-DRIVE. There is usually one drive on sale on newegg for under $15 USD

You cannot use that, that changes the motherboard from PATA to SATA. what is your budget?
