Need help for CPU upgrade.

I have G4560 now w/ h110n board. I wanted to upgrade to i7 but the highest I can get is 7700 for around 300$ brand new(On my country which is Philippines).

Iam not a fan of buying second hand parts because of trust issues and due to high scam rate here.


So my options is buy i7 7700 for 300$ or buy a newer cpu + board and sell my current one.
I dont know which option is better.

You could probably do an i3 8100, and a B310/B360 board. The 7700 is probably a better choice though.

you need f20 or later bios to support it. Since you have a working cpu, update bios should not be an issue.

Since it’s a low end mobo, I would suggest you to get a good cooling plan for cpu and case, especially if you are going to uses it under extend period of gaming or productivity load.

It’s not as hot as a 7700k nor any of the high end coffeelake cpu. A cooler like cryorig h7 should be fine, you would want the cooler to provide some airflow over the vrm on the mobo as there is no heat sink on them.
