Need Help - Gaming Monitor Information...

I am building a new gaming rig with a Geforce 250 or 260, and am thinking of picking up a new monitor. I have a very nice (but old) 21" high quality CRT. I am a relative newb when it comes to the new hardware flatscreen & widescreen technology - LCD and all that. Don't really know what my options are, and whether or not I should be looking to upgrade. I would like some good advice as far as something in the 200-300 price range, as well as some options in the 500 dollar range. I play mostly role playing games, mmo's, and FPS - I do think its time to go widescreen/flatscreen but I don't want to compromise quality. Where do I start?

here is what i want to get. it's 28" and only $300 dollars.

haven't found a better price for a monitor anywhere near that size.

One thing very important about gaming monitors is the response time. You should really get one with 5ms or less. I personally would recommend getting the 2ms response time because I can feel the difference between 5ms and 2ms. Any of these would be good:

Keep in mind though that most people like a 22" the most for gaming.

I have the Asus VK246H monitor which is similar to the VW246H, except it has a built-in webcam. It has low input lag and I noticed no ghosting when I was testing it.
