Hi!

First post here; hope this is the correct sub-forum and that I can get some help with my problem. I'm normally able to figure out what I'm looking at by searching the internet but this one has me stumped. I found a USB type A Male cable with this at the opposite end:

unknown_usb_connector.jpg

As pictured, the connector is 4.9mm wide and 2.1mm thick. At first glance it seems to be a USB mini but the "bottom" corners are rounded and 4 of the 5 electrical connections are packed to one side. If it's any help, there's a choke an inch from this connector and the cable is 6' long. The cable is labeled "AWM E101344-C STYLE 2725 28AWG/1PR AND 26AWG/2C VW-1 80°C 30V". To me this implies power (two conductor 26 gauge) and data connection (pair of 28 gauge wires).

I've not yet buzzed out the connections as I have to find something small enough to poke inside this end. Any guesses?

Thanks!

Ray

A lot of manufacturers create a proprietary plug for their equipment. In my own experience, quite often with some of the older camera equipment and so on. Without knowing what it was to this could just be a dead end unless someone else here has some specific experience with having used or seen it.
