OK Here is what happing exactly.
I have Asus Striker II mother board with ver 1001 and I have applied the follwing voltages setting on the bios to OC to 3.0:
QDR 1333
DDR 800
mulit 9x
voltages are
CPU Voltage = 1.40v
CPU PLL Voltage = 1.5v
CPU VTT Voltage = 1.20v
Memory Voltage = 2.1v
NB Core Voltage = 1.40v
SB Core Voltage = 1.50v
it is working fine and I pass all prime 95 tests but once or twice a week for some time I am getting a blue screen of :
*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
*** The system has halted ***
As a second try, I have keep all the above setting same but change the voltages to AUTO. I did not get the blue screen again but the CPU is heated very quickly and the temp reach 70c within hours and then the system shutdown automatically becaus of heat.
Then, I tried the follwing:
I upgraded the bios to ver 1401 (latest) and apply the same above setting with the follwing votages:
CPU Voltage = 1.40v
CPU PLL Voltage = 1.5v
CPU VTT Voltage = 1.20v
Memory Voltage = 2.1v
NB Core Voltage = 1.40v
SB Core Voltage = 1.50v
BUT I was not able to boot windows this time but I was able to boot waindows with the same setting on bios ver 1001.
I have changed the setting on bios ver 1401 to the following:
All Thermal Control = Disabled
All Spread Spectrum = Disabled
FSB = 1556 MHz
Molt. = x 9
Final Freq = 3.51 GHz
Voltage controls:
CPU vCore = 1,55 v
CPU PLL = 1,66v
CPU VTT 1,50 v
MEM = auto
NB core = 1,44v
SB Core = 1,50v
1.2v HT = 1,20v
Bridge = auto
CPU GTL ref ratio = +50 mV
NB GTç ref ratio = +30 mV
BUT this time I cannot pass any prime 95 test and the system hangs after 30mins.
Do you think it is a bios proplem?
