I have the following parts

Q6600
Asus Maximus formula
8800gts 512mb
2gb corsair ram
700 watt psu
2x wd 500gb hard drives

ok i have it set to 3GHz, however for voltages in the bios it has 2 settings for the cpu:

1. CPU Voltage
2. CPU PLL Voltage

i have cpu voltage set to 1.27 however in cpuz it shows it at 1.240volts and it shows the same reading in pc probe as well

i have cpu pll voltage set to auto, im not exactly sure what to set that to

also with core temp 0.96 it shows my cpu with the following temps:

Core #0 30c
Core #1 30c
Core #2 25c
Core #3 25c

this is totally idle, is that ok gor G0 stepping or?

also for prime 95 what test should i run? blend or?

*im pretty sure there is something wrong because i cant start speedfan and prime 95 wont even open lol... however i was able to run 3dmark 06 without any problems and hitting 14120. I think it has to do with the voltage not being high enough so i need to fix that

please help thanks :)

*Update

ok i figured out why prime 95 wouldnt open lol there was already one open. And so i ran blend torture test for 5 hours, and that seemed like long enough haha :S. Does this mean i have a successful overclock? I sort of doubt it though because cpuz says my vcore is set to only 1.232 volts... wtf? and like i said, in the bios settings i set the setting' cpu coltage' to 1.27 volts

PLL = Phase Locked Loop Voltage. No reason to touch it til you are running up around 450 FSB. It will help unlock more FSB once you are that high. Intel max spec is 1.6v.

The drop from 1.27 to 1.240 is completely normal. The drop then to 1.232 is also normal. The first is vDrop (of vOffset) and the second is vDroop.

That idle is fine.

Small FFT for 8 hours and Blend for 12 is my suggestion for stability.

If you enabled Round Off Error Checking then it will tell you and stop if there is an error.

It completely stops the thread if it detects an error.
